‘The sun with loving light, makes bright for me each day’, this is the sound of the children gathering in the morning, preparing to be engaged in a creative learning environment. This is a gift and is as precious as a seed that needs nurturing and so to must the school be nurtured.
At Taos Waldorf School, there is a fundraising component built into our annual budget. The TWS ‘giving campaign’ is a fund raising effort in which we send letters requesting donations to our families, their families and friends, alumni and others that have an interest in creating and sustaining a Waldorf School here in Taos. It is through this fall and spring giving campaign that we raise the funds that allow for the high quality teachers and curriculum, sustain our Access To All tuition assistance program and ensures our program will continue to run smoothly. This is the most important component in meeting our annual fundraising goals.
Taos Waldorf was honored to host the AWSNA regional delegates circle at our school the weekend of October the 4th, 5th and 6th. Friday evening was Taos Waldorf School's opportunity to sit down for dinner with delegates from across North America, making connections and sharing ideas.
International Association for Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Education [IASWECE] October, 2014 Newsletter
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
Have you also felt the change of season where you live and work ? Whereas in the Southern Hemisphere, the promise of light is born again with the fresh and tender green of spring, nature in the North radiates its full potential with glowing red and gold as a memory of the summer that has passed. As light is being born in the East and setting in the West each day, we can become conscious of the wonderfully diverse world we are living in, and in our work together we are given the gift of making life into a holistic experience.
This weaving and working together also shows itself in a beautiful way in the IASWECE partnerships that are developing between different countries. We are sure you will become motivated to explore what you can do in your own setting when you read about the partnership that has started between a small training in North England and the one we support in Vietnam.
