The Taos Chamber of Commerce produces a Fall Arts & Crafts Fair in Kit Carson Park the last weekend of September (09/28/2013 to 09/29/2013). This year they would like to create a “Taos School Street ” for schools to participate in this event with no-cost booth space.
This is a great opportunity for Taos Waldorf School to both raise funds, by having our students art for sale as well as to reach out to the wider community. Gia's 3rd grade class is thinking of producing sprouts for sale, Miss Beth's class may make crocks with pottery lids fired in our very own kiln. Silke's little Gnomes and Blossoms may contribute flower bookmarks and vases. Farmer Barry may even gather some of our garden produce for sale!
Parents, you help is needed to. We need people to be present at our booth throughout the weekend. Sign-up sheets will be posted around school in the next few weeks. Please help if you are able!
Taos Waldorf School participated in the Arts and Crafts fair this past weekend and it was a smashing success! So many thanks to those that volunteered to work the booth and to our wonderful students for the work they created and sold at the fair. The booth raised an amazing $461!!! This money will be donated to Boulder Waldorf Kindergarden that had major damage in the recent rains there. Our school was represented very well and this event speaks to the power of Waldorf Schools everywhere. Beautiful job!!!
Everyone Loves Flowers!
Taos Waldorf School Community
Our Annual Fall Bulb Fundraising Drive is Gearing Up.
Please help us raise money for the school by asking your friends, neighbors and family if they would like to brighten their lives with bulbs from
Dutch Mill Bulbs.
Its easy – just look through the beautiful Dutch Mill brochure, pick your favorites, fill out the order form, turn your completed form in at the office and
…....await your bulbs.
School is underway, our children have settled down to learn, knowledge is blooming....and our campus flowers are working hard too. Taos Waldorf School is looking colorful as the cosmos and sunflowers reveal themselves slowly. What a beautiful place to be.
Gia's third grade class has been helping farmer Barry in the Garden by spreading mulch......it also happens that mulch piles can function as castles, forts, mountains, cliffs and all sorts of other exciting structures! Have fun third graders!
TWS will have a yard sale fundraiser Saturday, September 14th from 7am to 12pm. We are raising money for new play equipment in our play yards.
Here's how you can help:
1. Donate gently-used, clean and functioning items (clothes, furniture, computers, tvs, household goods, sports equipment, etc.). All items may be brought in on Friday, September 13th between 3-6pm at TWS.
2. Help to organize and price items Friday, September 13th from 3-6pm
3. Help to work at the sale:
*11am-1pm (includes clean up)
4. Bring your truck at 12:15pm on Saturday the 14th to load up any unsold goods to donate to local charities.
5. Paint or create a beautiful, large, two-sided sign that we could use for this yard sale and future yard sales.
Thanks everyone! Please email me with any questions or to let me know how you'd like to help,
Taos Waldorf School 6th grade class may make pottery pieces for our end of September Arts and Crafts fair. Farmer Barry is doing his part to support them in their endeavors by seeing if our old white kiln will work. Please do your part by making a donation today.
We deeply appreciate your support.
This school year, TWS fully launches our Social Regeneration Project - changing our school for the better, together.
Of the 4 new positions created by this project, one is still open: the Office Manager. This unique position, 20 hours per week, will be compensated via full tuition remission.

Well, lots of reasons, but mostly to celebrate! We are officially celebrating the launch of our Accessible to All tuition adjustment program - not to mention lots of other great things - in this unique benefit concert for TWS. Come on down and get in for an easy $5. There will be lots of great art, gifts, and fun things to bid on in the silent auction as well.
